Commitment to net zero
CyberSafe Coach Plus Ltd is committed to reaching net zero emissions by 2040, ten years ahead of the UK's legal 2050 target.
We are a small software business. We work from home, have no office, no company vehicles and no physical products, so our footprint is small: mostly the energy used working from home, and business travel, usually by train.
Baseline emissions footprint
The baseline year is the 12 months from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. All figures are in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e), estimated with the UK government's greenhouse gas conversion factors.
| Emissions | tCO2e |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 (fuel we burn directly) | 0.00. No company vehicles, premises or boilers |
| Scope 2 (electricity we buy) | 0.00. The company buys no electricity of its own; home working is counted under Scope 3 |
| Scope 3: business travel | 0.07 |
| Scope 3: employee commuting, including working from home | 0.57 |
| Scope 3: waste from our operations | 0.00. Too small to measure |
| Scope 3: upstream transport and distribution | 0.00. We send no physical goods |
| Scope 3: downstream transport and distribution | 0.00. Our service is delivered online |
| Total | 0.64 |
Current emissions reporting
The baseline year is also our current reporting year, so these figures match the baseline. From next year this section will show the latest 12 months beside the baseline.
Emissions reduction targets
To reach net zero by 2040, we will:
- cut total emissions by 50% from the baseline by 2030
- keep Scope 1 at zero, with no fossil-fuelled company vehicles or heating
- switch the home office electricity to a renewable tariff by the end of 2027
- offset only the emissions we can't remove, and say so each year
Carbon reduction projects
Already in place
- All training is delivered online, so customers don't travel to sessions and nothing is printed or posted.
- Certificates and evidence reports are digital.
- Meetings with schools, councils and partners are held online wherever possible.
Planned
- Choose train over car for business trips where there's a reasonable route.
- Switch work electricity to a renewable tariff.
- Ask our main suppliers, including our cloud hosting provider, for their own carbon reduction plans each year.
- Measure emissions every year and publish this plan on our website.
These measures will be in effect when we perform any public sector contract.
How the figures were worked out
| Source | Activity | Conversion factor | tCO2e |
|---|---|---|---|
| Working from home | 37.5 hours a week for 46 weeks, about 1,725 hours | About 0.33 kgCO2e an hour (DESNZ homeworking) | 0.57 |
| Train travel | About 1,250 miles (2,010 passenger km) | About 0.035 kgCO2e a passenger km (DESNZ national rail) | 0.07 |
