    Stop. Is any of this happening right now?

    • 1Someone called you out of the blue about your computer, your bank account, or a parcel
    • 2They're asking you to stay on the phone while you do something
    • 3They want you to download something or let them see your screen
    • 4They're saying it's urgent and you must act immediately
    • 5They've asked for your PIN, password, or to move money to a different account

    If any of these are happening: put the phone down.

    You can always call them back if it was genuine, a real organisation will understand. Then call someone you trust, or contact your bank directly on the number on the back of your card.
